Helium 10 alternatives: name the job before you shop

Updated 2026-08-21 · 2317 words · Written against what currently ranked for “helium 10 alternative”
The short answer

There is no single Helium 10 alternative, because Helium 10 does six unrelated jobs. Decide which one you are actually replacing — product research, keyword work, profit analytics, inventory forecasting, reimbursement recovery, or ad management — and the shortlist for each is short and obvious.

Name the job you are replacing

Helium 10 is a suite. That is its strength and it is why "what is the best alternative" has no answer as asked. Nobody uses all of it. People leave because one specific thing was not working, and the right replacement depends entirely on which thing.

Pick your sentence:

  • "I want cheaper product research." A research tool. Jungle Scout is the obvious one.
  • "I want keyword and rank depth." Honestly? Stay. This is the part of Helium 10 that is hardest to replace and the reason most heavy users tolerate the price.
  • "I want one authoritative stock number across channels." You want an inventory and order management system. Different category entirely.
  • "I want someone else to store and ship my orders." You want a 3PL. Also a different category.
  • "I want the fee, stockout and reimbursement work actually done." You want an operator, not software.
  • "I want my ads managed." Ad management, priced separately wherever you buy it.

Write your sentence down before you read another list. It cuts the shortlist from twenty tools to two, and it stops you buying a research suite to fix an operations problem — which is the most common expensive mistake in this category.

Why every alternatives list you are reading looks the same

A structural thing about this keyword, stated without heat. Most pages ranking for it carry affiliate links, which is disclosed on the better ones and worth knowing on all of them. That does not make the write-ups false — many are careful and useful — and we are not in a position to say what any given writer's ordering was based on. But it is a reason to check whether a list was built around your problem or around a fixed roster, which would explain why the same six products appear in the same sequence across a dozen sites, and why the tool that would genuinely suit a smaller seller with a fee problem never appears at all.

Our own position, so you can weight this page: we sell products in an adjacent category and we earn nothing from Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Cin7 or ShipBob. We would rather you bought the right one of those than the wrong one of ours.

The test that removes everyone's incentive is the same as always — define the job, then ask each candidate what it would do about that job in week one, and see who answers with a process instead of a screenshot.

The alternatives, by job

Product research and validation → Jungle Scout. Catalyst Starter, $49 a month on monthly billing or $29 a month billed annually; Growth Accelerator, $79 or $49; Brand Owner with CI, $149 or $129. USD, read 20 August 2026. Additional seats, $49 a month, or $459 a year on an annual plan. Cleaner and cheaper at entry than Helium 10, and for a first or second product that simplicity is worth more than depth.

Keyword and rank work → usually Helium 10 itself. If this is the job, most alternatives are a downgrade and you should renew. Platinum, $129 a month billed monthly, or $99 billed annually; Diamond, $359 or $279. If the price is the problem rather than the product, drop a tier before you drop the vendor.

One stock number across channels → an inventory and order management system. Cin7 Core publishes three prices — $349, $599 and $1,199 a month USD for Standard, Pro and Advanced — banded by annual order volume at 6,000, 24,000 and 120,000 orders. Cin7 Omni is quote-only. Implementation is not published, and for systems of this type year one usually costs a multiple of the subscription. Right purchase for genuinely multichannel businesses; overkill for Amazon-only sellers with one stock pool.

Physical fulfilment → a 3PL. ShipBob and its peers do not publish rates; the fee categories are implementation, receiving, storage, pick and pack, and shipping, with returns and kitting extra. Get modelled totals on your own ninety days of order data rather than comparing rate cards.

Fees, stockouts, aged inventory and reimbursements → an operator. This is the job with no software answer, because the value is in the doing. That is Dr. Stock, covered below.

Ad management → priced separately everywhere. Helium 10 Diamond bundles Helium 10 Ads with a 2% management fee on managed PPC spend. Dr. PPC is $300/month plus 3% of ad spend, capped, month-to-month, first 30 days free, with Orbit included. Both are percentage models; compare them at your actual spend rather than on principle.

The leak is rarely where the tool is pointed

Here is the thing that changes how you should read every list on this keyword. Most sellers shopping for a Helium 10 alternative do not have a tooling problem. They have an unworked-list problem, and the two look identical from the inside.

An illustration from our own data — and to be exact about what it is, these are advertising figures, not inventory figures, read out of Orbit across the 47 brands we manage, Amazon search data from 1 May 2026 onward. Of $10,243,379 of search spend, 48.5% — $4,962,963 — went to search terms that produced zero orders. 83% of every term that took a click returned nothing. And 0.9% of 891,585 terms drove 80% of all sales.

Every one of those wasted terms was visible in a report the whole time. No tool was missing. The list was simply never worked, because working it is unglamorous and takes hours every week.

Inventory behaves exactly the same way, and worse, because the two compound. A hero SKU goes out of stock; the campaigns keep spending against a listing that cannot convert; rank decays; the restock arrives into a worse position than it left. Storage fees accrue on the units that did not sell while the ones that did are unavailable. Every part of that was visible in a dashboard somebody was paying for.

So the honest question is not which tool shows you more. It is who is going to work the list. If the answer is nobody, a cheaper subscription is not an improvement — it is the same outcome for less money.

What Orbit and Dr. Stock actually replace

Being precise, because vague claims are how this category gets its reputation.

Orbit is the software half and it is the fair like-for-like against a Helium 10 subscription on the operations side: inventory, finance and ASIN profitability, plus the BSR, buy box, price and fee trackers. It is included at no additional cost with Dr. Stock — no separate seat fee — which is a real like-for-like against paying a monthly subscription for the same reporting elsewhere.

What Orbit is not: it is not a product-research suite, so it does not replace Helium 10's or Jungle Scout's discovery tooling. It is not a multichannel system of record, so it does not replace Cin7 for a business selling across four channels from three locations. It is not a 3PL and never will be.

Dr. Stock is the tier above the software — the work itself, run by Fable 5 and supervised by operators from Full Circle, a full-service Amazon management company with $500M+ in managed revenue across 100+ brands. Reorder timing and stockout risk. Cash trapped in slow-moving SKUs. Storage fees, aged-inventory surcharges and the removal-versus-liquidation decision taken before the 181-day threshold rather than after it. FBA fee errors and dimensional-weight misclassification, checked by measuring the product against Amazon's recorded size tier. Shipment discrepancies, lost and damaged units and reimbursement recovery, filed inside Amazon's claim windows. Returns cost per SKU.

You choose the autonomy level — full human approval, supervised, or fully autonomous inside agreed guardrails — and inventory purchasing decisions always come to a human regardless of setting. There is no published price: a demo, the first 30 days free, and a number agreed on the call. We would rather say that plainly than print a figure that would need three caveats.

Three steps, then buy something

  • Write the sentence. One job, in your own words. "I need to stop paying the wrong FBA fee on eleven ASINs" is a sentence. "I need better tools" is not.
  • Price the leak, not the licence. Total four numbers from the last twelve months: storage fees plus aged-inventory surcharges; days out of stock on your top five ASINs; the value of stock that has not moved in 180 days; and unclaimed shipment discrepancies. Compare that total to your annual software spend. For most brands past their first million it is not close.
  • Ask every candidate the same question. "What would you do about this in week one, and who does it?" Then pick whoever answers with a process and a named owner. If nobody on your team can be that owner, buy the work rather than another seat — from us or from anyone else.

If the four numbers come back small and the money is instead going out through the ad account, none of this applies to you and Dr. PPC is the right door. If you want the whole account run rather than one function, that is Full Circle.

Which one you should actually pick

If you need product research, Jungle Scout is the cheaper alternative and a good one. If you need keyword depth, no alternative beats staying on Helium 10 at a lower tier. If you need a system of record across channels, buy Cin7 or a peer. If you need the fee, stockout and reimbursement work actually done, buy an operator — Dr. Stock, with Orbit included.

What to do with this

Before you switch, write down the one number the switch has to change — reorder timing, storage fees, fee misclassification, or reimbursements recovered. Then ask the new vendor to show you how their product moves that specific number, and what happens on the weeks nobody logs in.

Common questions

What is the best Helium 10 alternative?

There isn't one, because Helium 10 does at least six unrelated jobs. For product research the answer is usually Jungle Scout, at $49 to $149 a month on monthly billing, or $29 to $129 billed annually. For keyword and rank depth the honest answer is often to stay with Helium 10 and drop a tier. For inventory across multiple channels you need an inventory and order management system, not a research suite. For fee, stockout and reimbursement work you need an operator. Name the job first and the answer stops being contested.

Is there a free Helium 10 alternative?

Helium 10 has a free tier of its own, and Seller Central's own reports — search term reports, inventory age, fee preview, reimbursement reports — contain a great deal of what people pay third parties to reformat. The reason those reports go unused is not that they are hidden. It is that reading them and acting on them takes hours every week. If nobody has those hours, free tooling produces exactly the same outcome as paid tooling, which is none.

Should I replace Helium 10 with an agency or a managed service?

Only if the job you need done is work rather than information. If your problem is that a list exists and nobody works it — wasted ad spend, aging inventory, uncorrected fees, unclaimed shipments — then a service is the correct purchase and another subscription is not. If your problem is that you cannot find a product to launch, a service is the wrong shape and a research tool is cheaper and better.

Does Dr. Stock replace Helium 10?

Partly, and only on the operations side. Orbit — included free with Dr. Stock — covers inventory, finance and ASIN profitability plus the BSR, buy box, price and fee trackers, which is a genuine like-for-like against the reporting half of a Helium 10 subscription. It does not replace Helium 10's product research or keyword tooling, and we would not suggest otherwise. Plenty of clients keep a research subscription alongside us, which is a perfectly sensible arrangement.

How do I know whether my problem is ads or inventory?

Two calculations, an hour of work. For ads, total the last ninety days of spend against search terms that produced zero orders — across the 47 brands referenced above, an advertising figure from our own data, that runs at 48.5% of all search spend. For inventory, total twelve months of storage fees and aged-inventory surcharges, add the days your top ASINs were out of stock, and add the value of stock that has not moved in 180 days. Whichever number is larger is the door you should walk through — Dr. PPC or Dr. Stock.

Dr. Stock runs Amazon inventory and supply chain — reorder timing, stockout risk, storage and aged-inventory fees, FBA fee errors and dimensional-weight misclassification, shipment discrepancies and reimbursement recovery — with operators from a $500M+ Amazon team supervising. Purchasing decisions always come to a human. Orbit is included. First 30 days free, priced on the call.
